Ulassai (Italy), April 4th, 2025 – Pure, genuine freedom to breathe and share: the Ulassai Festival returns next May 30th to June 2nd for four days of adventure, sports and outdoor activities among the Tacchi d’Ogliastra. The event's program will be enriched with talks, film screenings, music, tradition, and culture.
The landscapes of Ulassai are soul-stirring, making it an ideal destination for outdoor enthusiasts from around the world. The Ulassai Festival is a true magic box of outdoor activities, offering a wide range of activities like climbing walls, parkour, mountain biking excursions, trekking, pump track circuits. The festival also features yoga and pilates for those seeking relaxation.
As always, the crown jewel of the event will be the eye-catching highline, set 150 meters above the ground and stretching for 500 meters, positioned above Piazza Barigau, the festival’s headquarters.
This year’s event ambassador will be Belgian climber Nicolas Favresse, born in 1980, renowned for his alpine feats, sport climbing, traditional ascents, and Big Wall climbs in high mountain regions and the polar areas.
Evening entertainment will include live music, as well as film screenings focused on sport climbing. Two films will be shown: “Riders on the Storm”, directed by Drew Smith, about one of the most famous routes in the Torres del Paine, Patagonia, and “Still Alive”, directed by Santino Martirano. The latter is a documentary about Klaas Willems, a Belgian climber who overcame fear and limitations, finding a path out of the negative spiral of cancer and cystic fibrosis through climbing. The documentary was filmed in Ulassai, at the Sa Tappara canyon. Klaas is now an adopted resident of Ulassai.
The full program for the Ulassai Festival 2025 will be available soon. This event, which started seven years ago with a group of young people, has now grown to involve the entire town. The Ulassai Festival 2025 is promoted and organized by the Municipalit of Ulassai and is part of the “Ulassai: Where Nature Meets Art” project, funded by the European Union.
